There have been many changes to
routes as the new schools came into alignment for the 08-09
school year and there will be more for the 09-10 year. Please use
the
Street Search (above) for current bus route
eligibility. Check it often as streets are
constantly being added or reassigned to different
routes. The new year we will be using the bus
routing system to pinpoint all of our students and refine our bus routes even further.
Basic changes will not be posted prior to August 10, 2009.
Contracts are printable from this site,
either under Printable Documents (upper left) or under Bus
Information (top), or they are available on your campus.
Copy your contracts and return them to your appropriate campus.
They
will forward them to us.
Transportation requires
a 3-school-day waiting period on
all bus
contracts, once they are received at the Transportation
office, before students may begin to ride. This
is necessary to verify the information with each
school's database, correct contract errors, assign
buses, notify drivers of new or reactivated stops,
have a chance to hear from parents or schools about
stops and times and update route descriptions for
sub-drivers.
Sometimes routes may change to the point
that we have to send out letters to other parents that
their children's stops, buses or times will have to
change as a result. We must make every
effort to do that which is safest for our children.
Please understand the need to have timely, accurate
communications in all directions where it affects our
children. If your student's address changes, please change
it at school (in your school's computer records) before submitting a new
bus contract. We match the bus contract to those records
so they must be accurate.
Have alternate transportation
arrangements in place if children miss their bus.
Should we not feel comfortable transporting your child
due to missing or conflicting information, he/she will
be left at or returned to their primary school campus.
In-town bus stops are 1/4 mile or less apart.
As a result, we will not move these stops or create new
stops in these areas. Out of town bus riders should check
with Transportation a day or more before expecting to begin
riding after bus contracts have been received in our offices to
be sure stops are active. Buses will visit the same stops every
day, as practical. Stops that are out of the way or simply do
not have riders will become inactive. Kindergarten parents/guardians need to
communicate with their school office about safety
practices regarding their children being transported to and
from school and home. The school can tell you when your child is
eligible to ride but still check with us to be sure your stop is
active. We do not require parents to be standing at the stop.
Please be sure that your child knows the bus stop area and how
to get to and from it and home as specified on the Regular Bus
Rider Contract form.
